James Muir Sculptures

Liberté, Some Gave All, Glory, Trails End

Always inspired by the song lyrics "all gave some, but some gave all," along with the memories of friends and classmates and their sacrifices, on Memorial Day I was moved to create this sculpture as my own humble tribute honoring courageous devotion to the ideal of human liberty.

James N. Muir
All gave some and some gave all
And some stood through for the red, white and blue
And some had to fall
And if you ever think of me
Think of all your liberties and recall
Some gave all

And if you ever think of me
Think of all your liberties and recall,
Some gave all.   Billy Ray Cyrus

My second trip to Loveland Sculpture Exhibit introduced me to this unique and touching tribute to all of the Viet Nam vets, and being a vet myself, this piece really spoke to me as well. I believe that James did an awesome job in his tribute in bronze and just like Liberté, I had to have it. I have received several offers for this piece in the past, but just couldn't let it go. Additionally, I would really like this piece to go to another vet. (Click the following links to view the installations) The monumental version of Some Gave All has been installed at the Vietnam Memorial at the Cedar City Memorial Veteran's Park in Cedar City, Utah and also at the Veteran's Memorial in Loveland, Colorado.

I regret having to part with James' tributes, but circumstances being what they are, I have to and all of the sculptures on this site are for sale. I don't really need the money, it's more of a personal decision. If you are interested in purchasing any of the pieces on this site, drop me a line and let me know. Please, serious inquiries only
